The latest unwelcome news is the ruling by the Supreme Court that quashed the conviction of Syafruddin Arsyad Temenggung. The former chairman of the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) had been found guilty by the Corruption Court, but the cassation judges released Syafruddin on the grounds that the case concerned was not a criminal offense.
