THE decision by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) to name Ganjar Pranowo as its presidential candidate for the 2024-2029 period has given rise to an important question: will he simply parrot the policies of the party supporting him, including if this is at odds with common sense or the wishes of the people?
