THE Jakarta-Bandung fast train could be a parasite for the Indonesian railroad sector. It has proved difficult to cover the costs of this mega project, and the government has asked the Indonesian railroad company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) to pay off the debts of its subsidiary, Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC).
