The state of Jerusalem today is an irony. This ancient city is regarded as a holy place for followers of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism alike. Yet peace very seldom lasts long here. Disputes, occupations, and conflicts define its history like scales covering a fish's skin. It may even be said that violence, blood, oppression, and tears have left their trails in this Holy Land for thousands of years. We cannot but wonder: "How much longe
