The enactment of the Oil and Gas Law by the House of Representatives (DPR) at the end of last year was greeted with enthusiasm by several observers. The new decree was aimed at freeing up the sector from hidden self-interest groups. It was also hoped this could become the gateway to a new, shining oil and gas era. This new era would no longer be sullied by practices of corruption, collusion or nepotism but would be marked by an effective and
