Disarming Iraq, Averting War

The international community must prove through the United Nations that averting the catastrophe of a global war does not entirely depend on the stance of the United States alone.

Iraq has finally accepted the presence of a team of UN weapon inspectors. No longer is there a reason for the United States to unilaterally attack Iraq and rid the country of its weapons of mass destruction. A major war could be averted—at least for the time being.
