War on Diseases

The lingering economic crisis has taken a heavy toll on public health: there are more cases of TB, mental depression and drug addiction in recent years. War on these diseases should be declared and the public mobilized to combat them.

FORGET that Indonesia is a country of lush greenery with smiling healthy people, as pictured in promotional brochures. Imagine, instead, a country of sick, thin-bodied people, coughing with TB, with no zest for life. Such a gloomy picture might come to pass 20 or 30 years from now unless preventive and curative measures are taken to stop it.
