ONE day after his appointment, Justice & Human Rights Minister Hamid Awaluddin went on a surprise inspection of Cipinang Prison. There, he found prisoners serving sentences for corruption, being given extra privileges, like refrigerators. He immediately ordered the refrigerators removed, and the next day, issued a statement that all prisoners convicted of corruption would be relocated to distant Nusakambangan Prison, in Central Java.
