Myanmar returns to darkness following the Tayiban incident. Why can't the world do more than just condemn?

WE, who live far from Myanmar can only imagine how Aung San Suu Kyi must be faring, alone in a cell, isolated from her people and the world. Only the military junta and God Almighty would know whether she is really "being protected" (as the junta says) or being terrorized; whether she is in "good condition" (as the junta says) or whether she was injured in the Tayiban incident which led to her re-arrest two weeks ago.
