Bested by Vietnam

The latest UNDP Human Development Index ranks Indonesia just below Vietnam, a timely warning that the quality of human life in Indonesia is declining, on a par with falling standards of public services.

It is best not to measure economic success purely in terms of per capita income, because this yardstick does not accurately reflect the reality of the people's condition.
