THE government's decision to extend martial law in Aceh is a big mistake. The policy gives the impression that Indonesia's easternmost province is in a state of chaos and far from secure. In fact, the various security operations carried out by the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the police in the last six months have made parts of Aceh safe. So extending the military state of emergency throughout Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam is an insult to the achi
