Economic recovery needs breakthroughs and plenty of hard work, not just the anticipation of new foreign investment following the 2004 General Elections.

AS 2003 draws to a close, it certainly seems several of the projections and issues contained in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program are no longer that important. We are being reminded that there has been no meaningful recovery in the Indonesian economy. There has been no 6 percent growth as in Thailand, nor as many times increased export value as in China. In short, there is really nothing much to be proud of.
