Going Nuts in Southeast Maluku

The crispy aroma and catchy packaging of fried peanuts and cassava seduce incoming tourists arriving from Dumatubun Airport in Kei Kecil, Southeast Maluku.

OUR curiosity was answered after­ we had walked 200 meters towards downtown, in the area of Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in Lang­gur. Apparently, the crispy smell came from peeled peanuts which were­ then put into bottles. Meanwhile the­ cassava was grated, dried, flatten­ed and­ then smoked.
