The leatherback population in Papua is diminishing despite a concerted conservation effort.

DO you know that the leatherback turtle (Dermochelys Coriacea) spends almost all of its life migrating across the oceans? The finding followed a research in 2003 by WWF Indonesia in which leatherbacks fitted with transmitters were released to the sea from Jamursba Medi, Sorong, in the Indonesian province of Papua.
