Orange growers in West Kalimantan are back in business as an orange-processing plant is set to go into operation in the province.

PONTIANAK is known for its sweet, thin-skinned shiny oranges. The unique variety is largely grown in the districts of Sambas and Singkawang, West Kalimantan, not in the provincial capital of Pontianak. “It’s like having buffalo’s milk and calling it cow’s milk,” says Singkawang Mayor Hasan Karman.
