Two chiefs of the Kubu tribe are on trial for torture and assault. Other tribal leaders are seeking their release.

FIVE tarpaulin tents were pitched in front of the Sarolangun District Court, Jambi. Since last February, dozens of members of the Anak Dalam tribe have been living there together. They sleep, cook, and eat in the tents. Most of the campers are women and children.
