FIVE tarpaulin tents were pitched in front of the Sarolangun District Court, Jambi. Since last February, dozens of members of the Anak Dalam tribe have been living there together. They sleep, cook, and eat in the tents. Most of the campers are women and children.

The Anak Dalam tribe—also known as the Kubu tribe—is not on a camping excursion in the city. They deliberately came down from their dwelling place of Kejasung Besar village in the f
