Sabu Raijua, NTT’s Youngest Regency

Sabu Raijua is now officially the newest regency in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara. The regency relies on its maritime potential for economic development. There is the prospect of exporting Sabu’s sugar to Timor Leste.

DON’T be surprised if you visit Sabu Raijua regency. Prices of basic necessities are double the rates effective in Jakarta or even in Kupang. Wheat flour for instance, can cost as high as Rp10,000Rp25,000 per kilo. In fact, in Jakarta or Kupang the price of wheat flour is around Rp4,000Rp6,500. The location of this youngest regency in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is indeed quite remote.
