A Dry Season on Komodo

The population of giant lizards in Komodo Island National Park is adequately protected for now. But in Flores the ancient reptile is endangered. The government also strives to put the Komodo protection zone on the list of New 7 Wonders of Nature.

A MOTORBOAT was passing through Flores Sea, which separates Flores Island and Komodo Island. It took around three hours’ sail from the port of Labuan Bajo, the nearest town in Flores, to reach Loh Liang, the main port on Komodo Island. During the journey the boat was rocked by waves.
