Papua’s Oppressed

In indigenous cultures in Papua, the position of women makes them highly vulnerable to oppression. In addition, they are subjected to violence as a result of the presence of the military and multinational corporations. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics shows that violence against women and children in Papua reached 13.62 percent, the highest level in Indonesia.
