ID for Plants

Researchers from LIPI and Harvard identify plant DNA from Mount Palung, then post it on the Internet. It is the first step for sharing information.

THREE female researchers are crowded around a glass-covered table. They skillfully fill small tubes with liquid which drips from a pipette. Plant samples taken from Mount Palung National Park, West Kalimantan, are inside the tubes. The researchers were making extracts to take samples of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
