EACH measuring more than a meter in diameter, two white pipes run parallel, protruding into the sea at Senunu Bay. One is the tailing (mining waste) carrier pipe, while the other transports water from the sea to be used in the mineral processing plant at the Batu Hijau mining site. Both pipes span over 6 kilometers from the mineral processing plant to the beach.
