A Dream Called Minapolitan

After 200 days of presiding over the Department of Maritime Affairs & Fisheries, Fadel Muhammad launched a program called Minapolitan, a Fishing City, in early 2010. The concept is an integrated fishery region with an ambitious target: making Indonesia the largest producer of fish and maritime products in the world by 2015. IN the first week of May, Kupang, a provincial city in eastern Indonesia, was declared a Minapolitan city. A month earlier, Pelabuhan Ratu, which is located along the southern coast of West Java, was named the “initial city” in the network of Minapolitan or “Fish Cities” of Indonesia.
