A GROUP of children in their elementary school uniforms scurried through the bushes, making their way past a rocky and slippery path. Their parents followed behind. It was not a casual morning jog, but rather a daily routine for the schoolchildren of Kuasae, a small kampong in the middle of a jungle—around 15 kilometers from Kupang, the capital city of East Nusa Tenggara province (NTT). With the 4-kilometer distance they have to cover, the scho
