This brotherhood began in the distant past and has survived for centuries. In the name of Confrerie, the Bond of Brotherhood, they pledged allegiance to serve Tuan Ma, the Virgin Mary. Dressed in opa (white robe) wearing the Saint Dominic medal bracelet, carrying red banners and the crucifix they present their lives to Mary, the entity whom Larantuka upholds.
