Safety in Increasing Numbers
The excessive number of cases of violence against women in NTT spurred the establishment of safe houses in Kupang to protect the victims. More effective after male counselors were recruited.

FROM outside, the house looks like a regular one, but inside, the scene is totally different: posters with anti violence against women theme decorate the walls. The house on Jalan Pegangsaan No. 17, Kelapa Lima subdistrict, Kupang, is indeed not a regular one. This is a Rumah Perempuan (House for Women) whose specific purpose is to protect women who are victims of domestic violence (KDRT).
