LINING both sides of Bantaeng-Bulukumba’s mile-long main street in South Sulawesi, are rows of homes that also serve as seaweed processing plants, in all shapes and sizes. This area is known as one of the country’s foremost producers of seaweed. From sunrise to sunset, families in this eastern Indonesian village work collectively to process their sea farming harvest.
