A SWEET smile flashed on the face of Komang Suryati, 8, as she saw Luh De Suryani. The two met on Wednesday evening last week, when Luh De came to teach her to read and write. A primary school dropout, Suryati maintained her spirit to keep learning although it was done in a narrow alley of tenement houses. “The teacher is coming, let’s learn,” she shouted repeatedly to gather her peers in Beranda (veranda) school.
