The hands of Ketut Suwaca separate peanuts from cashew nuts in Tianyar village, Karangasem, Bali. For more than 20 years he has been working as a cashew farmer.

However, recently his cashew fruits have begun selling as an ingredient.

"Six months ago Bali Wein began to buy cashew fruits," he told Tempo last week.

Ketut joins the Gema Sebana group of farmers. He and 50 other members in this group usually collect up to 1 ton of cashew fruits from each
