The People's Welfare Is An Indicator Of How Forests Are Preserved
ILLEGAL logging and forest fires have became daily news in Indonesia. It causes untold damage to the environment, and our forests continue to disappear. "There must be a drastic change of mindset to overcome this problem," said Yanto Santosa, a lecturer of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB). Yanto, who is a graduate of the Languedoc Science and Technical University in France, is also the initiator of unique ways to conduct forest conservation, which requires people's participation.
