Sharia Tourism On The Rise in Sumatra

LAWANG Park is the perfect place for tourists to unwind in West Sumatra. Overlooking Lake Maninjau in Tanah Datar Regency, the property is 15 hectares in size and features six villas and 20 rooms. The largest villa is built like a traditional West Sumatran traditional house, Rumah Gadang. There is also a camping site for those who want to be closer to nature.

Like most other tourist accommodation, Lawang Park has a restaurant. But the diner at Lawang Park is geared to the Muslim traveler-everything served is halal. "We don't serve alcohol," said Zuhrizul Chaniago, Lawang Park owner.
