Foreigners are taking over Balinese traditional silver crafts business. Local artisans reacted by selling their products in the global market.

KETUT Deni Ariyasa, 42, one of the owners of silver shops at Celuk, was not happy with the increasing number of foreigners who set up similar businesses in his village. "From the top 10 businessmen here, only two are Balinese," he said. "The foreign businessmen control the market access because they are superior in design trends, in their technology and capital."
