In addition to building a micro hydro power plant, Kamanggih villagers have also built wind turbine farms and solar cells. Kamanggih has become a pilot for the Sumba Iconic Island project.

IN Kalihi, on the outskirts of Kamanggih village, East Sumba, West Nusa Tenggara, we could see a wind turbine farm located on a hill overlooking the valley. All 20 turbines were spinning as if doing dance against the sky. Not far from these turbines, we saw solar cells and a small control building.
