Mangrove Revival
Serdang Bedagai’s fishermen protect their coastal areas by planting mangroves, which they eventually harvest and sell. These fishermen have transformed their neighborhoods into an ecotourism zone.

To around 50 students at the Binjai 6 State High School, Irwan Syahril spoke about the benefits of mangrove found along coastal areas. The youngsters listened attentively to Irwan’s explanations on ecotourism in Kampung Nipah, North Sulawesi.
