Humor and Sermons For Road Safety

Indonesia suffers a high number of traffic-related fatalities. According to police data, 2016 saw more than 105,000 road accidents with 25,859 casualties. Some provinces are addressing the concern by raising road safety awareness in the community. In Aceh, traffic police have created fun videos urging people to obey traffic rules and posted them on social media. In West Nusa Tenggara, the Road Traffic Transportation Forum designed an app for people to report road problems, and published a sermon handbook for preachers to use to incorporate safety messages during Friday prayers.
