A group of women suffering from years of conflict in Wamena have formed a small community in the Manda hamlet. These survivors are now willing to tell their stories and are recovering from isolation and neglect.

Eliana Komba is all too familiar with loss. In 1977, when she was only eight years old, she lost most of her family members, including her parents, brothers and sisters. That year, a military operation was carried out to curb a separatis
