DOZENS of hand imprints in terracotta-red are painted on the walls of the cave. Five of them are more prominent than the rest. The hands appear to be joined by a line that looks like a twig. This is one example of a number of images of ancient artworks that Carsten Peter, a freelance photographer with National Geographic Indonesia, has captured and titled Tree of Life.
