The flood, 1.5 meters high, allowed no choice to residents of Sidomukti village, Gresik, East Java. They had to take refuge with whatever belongings they could carry in small boats. Those already attempting to remain amid flood waters finally gave up and were heading to a higher area. The photographer took their picture from another boat as it was drizzling.
