Since the airline industrys recession four years ago, the Bandung plant of PT Dirgantara Indonesia lay dormant at night. After the dismissal of thousands of workers, the plants rhythm grew continually weaker. On January 18th this year, however, the atmosphere in the Aerostructure room was getting lively.

In the warehouse, dozens of eyes shone with radianceparticularly those of the director, Budiman Saleh. He and his colleagues crowded around a tel
