Despite the involvement of the International Labor Organization, the Shangri La dispute drags on; partly because of the Indonesian government's lack of attention.

They carried various flags and banners, chanting "Shame, shame!" in front of the marketing office of the Shangri La Hotel in Sydney early last August. They were not employees of Shangri La Hotels but members of the Liquor, Hospitality & Miscellaneous Workers' Union (LHMU), a strong labor organization in Australia.
They were protesting against the fate of 579 workers of the Shangri La Hotel in Jakarta who were fired early last year.
