DEMOCRACY was branded as bad and finally thrown out in Indonesia on July 5, 1959.

And the Republic changed from then.

The Constitution drawn up in 1959, which had human rights as one of its central premises, was wiped. A council for drawing up the constitution, called the Constituante, which had been formed based on the free general elections held in 1955, was dismissed.
