DO we really need armies?

This question will startle that general at the front—and that’s the problem. I do not enjoy startling anyone, particularly a fat general I do not know, who probably has cholesterol problems, blocked arteries, and impaired hearing. I am sure it has been quite some time since Mr Fat General bellowed “at the ready!” let alone fired his pistol. And so, truly, let me not pursue that question.
