Estaba la Madre—“The mother stood there grieving…”
THE greatest sorrow of all is probably not man’s sorrow at the death of God, but the sorrow of a mother whose son has died on the cross.
Even today this sorrow is incomparable. And yet at the same time it is more widespread. Today there is not just one grieving mother, and there is not just one son crucified.
