Twenty years or so after he was forgotten, Albert Camus is being remembered again. All over the world, symposia were held to mark the centenary of his birth. In Bandung last week, the commemoration lasted a full month. The entire program was drawn up and run by students, not all of whom were from the French Department.

On the last night, November 28, 2013, around 400 people, most of them under 35, crowded into the auditorium of the Institut Franai
