Icarus, One Day

One day, Icarus, imprisoned on the isle of Crete, wanted to escape by air, flying. His father, Daedalus, an inventor, made him some wings. Eagle feathers were gathered and laid carefully, until at last there was a huge pair of wings, attached to the boy's body with wax. He flew. But he flew too high, near the sun. The heat of the sun melted the wax, the wings came off, and Icarus fell to the earth, to the Aegean Sea. He drowned.
