Political rallies and old people don’t mix. During a mass gathering of the Democrat Party at the Lhong Raya parking lot in Banda Aceh on March 29, 2009, crowds surged forward causing one old man to faint. Good Samaritans wanting to carry him out of the crowds towards a safer place were blocked by barricades set up to protect the politicians on stage. It was an irony that caught the camera’s eye.
