They are nothing more than simple folks, yet this anti-graft group calling themselves the KP2KKN operates throughout the province of Central Java. During its 10 years of existence, this group has succeeded in putting numerous mayors and district chiefs behind bars. Nevertheless, the KP2KKN has not escaped criticism, for accepting funding from local governments.

A 2x3-meter whiteboard is covered with the signatures of present and past district chiefs in Central Java, alongside those belonging to mayors. This board is no decoration on the wall.

It is in fact, a record of the number of public figures in Central Java charged with corruption. For the past three years, it has been considered as the barometer for corruption, put up on display within the offices of an antigraft body known locally as the KP2KKN.
