SITI Latifah Herawati Diah could only remember two things about Chairil Anwar: poetry and Sutan Sjahrir. Herawati, who turned 99 last April 3 said that one day, Chairil came to her home on Jalan Diponegoro in Menteng, Central Jakarta. He had come to meet her husband Burhanuddin Mohammad Diah. Herawati did not remember when this happened. I remember that Chairil read the poem Aku (Me) with gusto, she told Tempo at a meeting, two weeks ago.
