As physical wounds from the Kuningan blast heal, many are still haunted by mental and emotion trauma from the blast.

Even the sound of someone knocking at his door is enough to startle Sujarwo. His heart pounds and he easily grows nervous and apprehensive. On such occasions, the 21-year-old’s memory turns to the morning in front of the Australian embassy on September 9, 2004. There is the roar of a deafening explosion, smoke fills the air and then he hears screaming and moans of agony. Surrounding him are bodies torn to pieces.
