The schools became quieter

In the past two years, numbers of school dropouts in Bali have increased. The common reason: parents are no longer able to afford the cost.

Bali does not always appear beautiful. An elementary school in Tejakula district, Singaraja, in contrast, is shabby. Desks for the students are in bad state; they are about to break and there are holes almost everywhere. The ceilings of the classrooms made from plywood are hanging precariously, waiting to fall. A walk in the schools courtyard makes the childrens feetmost of them without shoescaked with dirt.
