Market Pulse: Trump’s Efforts To Put America First

Last week, US President Donald Trump tried to keep one of his campaign promises, to protect US steel and aluminum workers, by imposing import tariffs of 25 percent on steel and 10 percent on aluminum. During his campaign, Trump had already threatened to restrict imports from countries, which he felt took advantage of low US trade barriers, but instead held back US exports into their domestic markets through high tariffs.…
